Services
We are able to offer a range of services tailored to your needs. All our services are centred around the production of wet plate collodion images and associated printing of period style prints.
Because we have a portable darkbox and trailer darkroom, it is possible for us to take plate photographs at a location of your choice. Or you can come to our studio and use our props and costumes.
Portraits
There is nothing like a vintage portrait shoot to create an heirloom plate photograph. You can choose the type of setting, indoor studio, outdoor, at your home or at an event. The style of portrait; whether period correct or modern style. We can provide clothing and props to allow you to create a totally authentic Victorian look. We even have backdrops to create the perfect setting. Have a plate or set of plates taken with your family.

Corporate
Holding a meeting team-building or away-day? I can come along and take a plate portrait of your team, we can take an hour going through the process, explaining it to your group. Or we can do a half-day, historical wet-plate workshop, that allows your team to get hands-on with the cameras, props and costumes and hats if they wish. In a half-day, we should manage about 6 to 10 plates. All the chemicals are kept strictly controlled and only non-hazardous chemicals are used in the final development process in front of the public/group. I carry full 3rd party liability, and take my commitment to safety for myself and my customers very seriously. I'm happy to prepare risk assessments with your organisers and comply with all safety and health requirements. I spent many years working in corporate SHE department in industry, so have a very clear understanding of how to bring wet plate photography safely into this type of environment.
Houses castles and other subjects
If you live in a period house, allow us to photograph it the way the Victorians would have done. If you have a vintage car, you could have a photograph of it in the setting of your choice.
Weddings
We do not offer a full wedding photography service, but we can offer something special. That single plate portrait that will be a unique and lasting memory of your day. Please enquire about what we can do for your special day.
Talks / Presentations
I am happy to provide talks and demonstrations to local history groups, associations such as Rotary club, Probus etc, as well as photographic societies and science fairs. If you are holding a heritage event, feel free to contact me about a talk or presentation.
